The 2011 BFA Comets faced St. Johnsbury in the semi-finals and, fueled by a towering 3-run home run from starting pitcher (and birthday girl) Chelsea Abbott, powered to an 8-2 win. Abbott took the win on the mound with 14 strikeouts. BFA (17-0) now faces defending champs Brattleboro in the finals, as Brattleboro dispatched Essex in the other semi-final to earn another trip to Poultney. Very proud of these Comets. Kate & Heather startd working with some of this crew back when these Comets were in 4th grade; their pitchers have been part of winter clinic; and many of whom I got to coach this winter in the indoor league (Eli, Cels, Kat, Chels, Sara, Lynds, Maria, Carita, Hannah). They've worked hard to earn this trip to the championship game!!! Congrats, Comets! Now, go get the title!Just for fun, here's a photo of Kate with Celsey, Caitlin, and Chelsea after the first of her back to back championship game wins for the Comets and then here's Kate with the Abbott girls after the 2nd consecutive 20-0 season ... :-)
