I got to bowl in the 2011 Bowlathon to benefit the Jim Bashaw Cancer and Catastrophic Illness fund. I've missed the event for four years as it coincided with the SMC Softball Spring opening tournament in Florida, so it was nice to be back -- used to bowl in it years ago and often my girls would come along for pizza and laughter. It's a great event -- thanks to the tireless work of Olivia, Jess, Patti and all the rest. It's my kind of charity fundraiser -- unpretentious and open to all. Love it.

NMC's Leadership Team bowled as "The Spare Time Rollers" and, alas for our scores, we did more laughing than sparing or striking! We did miss having Jill with us, as she was in Chicago at an educational program, but we had great fun. I did nearly strike out in the final frame, going X-X-9 -- leaving the 10-pin wobbling to miss out on an epic end to an enjoyable afternoon.
