The 18u Rockets opened their season in Montreal at the Cooper Fastpitch Classic -- top of the line competition right out of the gate!

They dropped the first game 6-4 to the Maine Attraction, playing well all around, but just coming up on the short end of the stick as Erin and Shila split the game on the mound. Whitney was player of the game, going 3-4 with a triple, a run scored, and 3 rbi. The Rockets bounced back in their second game on opening day, shutting out the Connecticut Pink Panthers 2-0. Kater threw a 3-hit, 1-walk shutout to earn the win on the mound.

We saw game 1 and then had to rush back for the 16u scrimage against the Vermont Vipers (the young Rockets stayed unbeaten with a 9-3 win). We went back up for game 3 before heading off the the 16u tournament in Clifton Park.

The 18s won games 3, 4, and 5 and then lost game 6. Mac was the winning pitcher in games 3 and 5; Shila started game 4 with Kate closing out the win -- and then Kate took a complete game loss in game 6 on day three. Sunday saw the Rockets fall behind early in Game 7, but claw back, only to lose 7-6. Erin started and was relieved by Shila, who gave way to Kate to close the game.
