The doubleheader at Stonehill was a bit of a microcosm of SMC's season -- some great plays, good competition, a couple of miscues, and exciting comebacks, but nothing to show for their efforts in the "w" column when the dust settled, as the Purple Knights lost the first 8-4 and the second, in 8 innings, 10-9. SMC is now 7-26 on the season.

KellyL had a great day, hammering a pair of HRs and driving in 7 runs on the day. KellyE hit her first collegiate home run to to tie the 2nd game in the 7th in addition to making a number of fine defensive plays. MegO turned in another strong pitching performance and continues to carry a hot bat. Ashley and KateC each doubled. Katelyn threw out her 6th runner of the year at the plate from Center in game one and MeghanC followed suit, throwing out the potential winning run from Left in the bottom of the 7th of game 2 -- with Heather hanging onto great tags on both plays at the plate.

Once again, these ladies proved there is NO QUIT in these Purple Knights, repeatedly bouncing back from adversity, supporting one another, and staging comebacks -- rather than rolling over. THAT makes them fun to watch.
