New Bay Bridge.Skyway

The bridge is expected to cost $6.3 billion and be completed in 2012.The skyway is 1.5 mile long roadway.Ther are 160 steel piles,310 feet each steel pile will be driven on a slant into the bay mud.The weight of each steel pile is 365 tons and 8 feet indiameter of steel.The weigh of the heaviest Skyway section is 780 tons. .

Excellent gallery. This is an 8-year project? Wow, that's a huge amount of time. They just announced the 35W bridge is 3-months ahead of schedule, which will make it an 11-month project.
