Nanortalik Greenland

Nanortalik is the southernmost town in Greenland. The area is very unique in Greenland, and the landscape is like nowhere else in the country. There are deep fjords, small woodlands and prairies, and rugged mountainside cliffs. About 2,200 people live in the town and surrounding settlements, the main industries include seal hunting, fishing, tourism service, and local administration.Nanortalik: A Sleepy Coastal Town in Southern Greenland Tucked away in the fjords of southern Greenland is Nanortalik, the tenth largest town in the country (tenth largest might sound like a whole lot of people, but in Greenland that means a population of only 1300!).Brightly colored houses line the streets, immense mountain peaks rise in the distance, and icebergs float by in the bay. It’s a quiet place, with a totally different feeling from its southern counterpart, Qaqortoq, a town three times larger in population.
