It is dismal weather for the parade this afternoon and the big, rivalry homecoming game tonight. Drizzling rain didn't dampen the attitudes of the junior varsity cheerleaders (including a few who decided to wear garbage bags over their uniforms) - and even a lewd shouted comment from a couple of guys (referring to the lollies the girls were enjoying) only sparked even more attitude from the girls.
Tomorrow is the dance - always a fun assignment. I've been to more dances for the newspaper than I ever went to when I actually was in high school.
"Roaders", by the way, is short for Railroaders. An odd name for a team (though I'm sure there are people who would argue that Hokies, Ducks and Cornhuskers are just as strange), but chosen to reflect the railroading history of the community.
