The local library billed it as "Come and talk to a professional photographer." Yep, that was me. I am apparently now officially a "professional photographer" instead of just someone who likes taking pictures and gets paid for it. Only five kids showed up and two of them (the boy and the girl just left of him) pointed out to me that "Our dad used to work for a newspaper taking photos, but now he's got a real job." ::sigh::
But, they were all enthusiastic about their project - document their life in photos for a week. "How do we do that? My life is sooooo boring" was their major concern and each of them said it in one way or another.
How do they do it. Thanks to many of you, they now know exactly how to do it.
Yes .. Chris and Dawn and Lee and Jess and Jeannie and 'That Weird Girl' and Jeremy and, well, of course me and many others who have done slice of life shots - you were part of my talk on what makes an interesting photo. They agreed that something as simple as watching someone unload laundry from the dryer really can be interesting.
They returned today to pick up their cameras and start recording .....
Their first assignment: "Shoot me." They laughed. And they did.
