Lemon-scented Gums

These gums are at their most colourful at this time of year as they shed old bark and expose the new.
This is a remnant stand from the original forest. The species is Blakella (Corymbia) citriodora.

I was thinking also that the lemon scent must have inspired the paint job.

the lemon scent must have influenced the choice of colours on the central structure...as a small remnant of a forest, it takes on an almost poignant aspect..
