Bush Stone-curlew

When (today) three of these guys decided to roost in my garden (they are nocturnal, so roost during the day), it was a dilemma; if I went outside I would disturb them and they would fly away.
I decided to stay indoors for the day, and hope they don't interpret that as such a good place to roost that they come back tomorrow. Sooner or later ...
I took this photograph through my living room window.

A fabulous shot through your living room window. What a great looking bird - I think he knows you're there!

What great visitors to your yard and you got a super photo of this one.

not a bad dilemma to face, with a fine image as compensation for your sacrifice...with legs like that the bird appears to be a wader..

Great shot thru the window. He seems to be looking at you a bit suspiciously.

An interesting very long legged bird - - and nocturnal - I'm thinking you should submit this sighting and image to eBird.
