stream

Portland Roads, Cape York Peninsula, Queensland

This is a seasonal stream, here in the wet season. Five years ago, when I visited in late in the dry season, I walked up this sandy (dry) stream bed lined with gallery rainforest.

Appears to be plenty of moisture to keep the forest looking so lush - nice to be able to use the stream bed for a trail when it's dry. V

the forest is so dense it would be a lot easier to follow the stream, dry or simply at low levels...there must be lots of life around here..

I bet that was interesting to walk in the dry season. Some of our local slate bottom creeks are like that, but they tend to retain some small puddles and ground seepage which can make them very slippery.

Such an interesting scene in the midst of a rainforest.

Looks like the water has kicked up the dirt.
