Flinders Poppy (Pimelea decora)

not really a poppy. It is in the rice-flower genus, though I'd have never picked that
Photographed near Hughenden in Queensland on a semi-arid basalt plain.

other sizes: small medium original auto

a remarkable flower, bears little resemblance to anything around here; extremely beautiful and well captured. V

Excellent closeup of this beautiful, misnamed flower. I thought they were pretty in your other picture of them, but they're stunning here.
