Umbrella Tree (Schefflera actinophylla)

a street tree with a bit of history

In the dry season of 2012 we had an exceptional frost for these (tropical upland) parts, -5dC. This burnt off all the foliage of this tropical/sub-tropical species - but it recovered strongly.

A very nice photograph it is plain to see how they came upon the name .
The are all umbrellas and do have a most interesting flowering.
