moth caterpillar

This is a giant, about 75 mm long and nearly as much in circumference.
It will (hopefully) develop into a large orange moth Syntherata escarlata (Northern Emperor Moth), family Saturniidae.
The caterpillar of this species is normally green; this is the uncommon yellow form.
It is feeding on a young specimen of Red Ash (Alphitonia excelsa).

What a beauty!! I'd be thrilled to find something like this. It certainly resembles some of our Saturniidae larvae. Just looked up the adult, beautiful moth! V
