Shark's-tooth Wattle (Acacia littorea)

a low coastal shrub, family Leguminosae (Mimosacee)

The "shark's teeth" are not leaves, though they function like them.
They're known as phyllodes and are flattened leaf stalks, the leaves having developed only in seedlings.

That's an odd plant, with leaves that aren't leaves.

Don't know how I missed this, it's just beautiful in both color and light. Interesting information as well.

Shark's teeth. I don't think I'll walk among these plants with bare legs.
