Mountain Ash

Eucalyptus regnans
photographed near Healesville, Victoria, Australia
Mountain Ash is the world’s tallest flowering plant; only Redwoods are taller trees and they’re conifers not flowering plants.
Mountain Ash often grows to 80 m tall and can reach a little over 100 m. However, these youngsters might be only half that height.

You picked the perfect stand of trees for the shot.
They marry nicely with the surrounding forest.
Nice sharp shot .

Mesozoic era look to these giant and beautiful trees. Can imagine one of those tall dinosaurs munching on the flowers! Excellent shot. V

They are an amazing sight, especially when they line the roads with all the ferns
a beautiful part of Victoria. v

Towering giants! You probably didn't get a photo of the flowers... Our mountain ash are shrubby things.

Your Mountain Ash is way different than ours. Terrific image.

What a great shot of these magnificent trees - very different from our mountain ash "shrubs" Sorbus sitchensis and Sorbus scopulina, V

Beautiful trees. We have one called a Mountain Ash, here, but it's a different species - Sorbus americana, and obviously does not grow to such heights.
