Irvinebank Cycad (Cycas platyphylla)

This listed Vulnerable species is known only from a small area to the west of my home town.
Cycad plants are either male or female. This one is female. The orange structures are termed megasporophylls, and these bear the developing seeds (pale blue in this species).

other sizes: small medium original auto

Your ability to aesthetically capture the exotic and unique features of a plant is truly inspiring. Always good information too.
