Walsh River

best viewed at original size

Here it is 125 km to the west-north-west of its source and almost a thousand metres lower, in the western foothills of the ranges on its way to the vast low-lying plains of western Cape York Peninsula.
Though it is still not much of a river, it can be after wet-season rains – its floodplain at this point is 120 metres wide and about four metres deep.

Hard to imagine this river after the wet-season being so big. The hardy trees seem to survive !!!

That looks like volcanic rock deposits - - very interesting river indeed!

Impressive looking landscape and very appealing. Very interesting to 'follow' the course of the river through your description and images. V
