Kapok Tree (Cochlospermum gregorii)

When and where I took this photo (central base of Cape York Peninsula, north Queensland, Australia) it hasn’t rained significantly for about seven months (and the last two wet seasons were poor), yet nature still yields its bounty.
Kapok Tree grows on harsh rocky rises and flowers and fruits while leafless in the dry season.

I love the composition Don. The colors and fading from in focus to blurred really work for me. Nice work.
