Hoop Pine is an Australian native conifer but in a different family to pines and cypresses of the northern hemisphere and to Australian cypress-pines.
It can reach 60 m in height yet endure seasonally-dry conditions.
Hoop Pine is commonly grown as a sub-tropical plantation timber, but the photographed trees are a natural occurrence in vine-thicket (AKA “dry rainforest”) in Jimna State Forest, south-east Queensland, Australia.
