It is late in the dry season and Sandy Creek has long since ceased to flow. But the sand in the bed remains damp and the riparian vegetation green.
The dominant pale-barked tree is Weeping Paperbark (Melaleuca leucadendra) whilst the dark-barked trees are River She-oak (Casuarina cunninghamiana).
