This forest type is predominant in less settled areas in the mountains south of Dili, occurring above about 700 m elevation.
Eucalyptus urophylla is one of the few eucalypt species to occur naturally outside Australia, and this forest type is uncannily like some in the mountains of south-eastern Australia.
