Brinckerhoff House, 85 South Hamilton St, Poughkeepsie

Marion Swords Rutherford owns the former Brinckerhoff estate which is located at 85 South Hamilton Street. This historic Victorian home was built to resemble a riverboat ferry similar to those Captain Brinckerhoff sailed on the Hudson River centuries ago.

This house now belongs to my cousin. The outside is beautiful and so is the inside. Leather wallpaper, beautiful ornate surrounds of the fireplaces, multiple, multiple rooms. Poughkeepsie Historical Society is missing the boat by not buying this house and using it for a museum or something for the general public.
