....Dutchess County & Vassar College.....

Dutchess County is my home.
Settled by the Dutch who sailed up the Hudson River in the seventeenth century, Dutchess County, New York is home to a number of National and NY State historic sites: Springwood in Hyde Park, the home of Franklin Roosevelt; Locust Grove, the home of Samuel Morse; the Vanderbilt Estate, built by Frederick and Louise Vanderbilt; and The Mills Mansion, the country home of Ogden and Ruth Livingston Mills, built in 1895-96.
Vassar College, Marist College, Bard College, Dutchess Community College and the Culinary Institute of America are also located in Dutchess County. IBM manufactures computer chips and computers here.

What a beautiful view you have captured of my home town area - thank you.... Have you discovered Wilcox Park in the Town of Milan? It's a great Dutchess County Park - as are Quiet Cove and Bowdion Park.

this is a beautiful gallery. i loved the parts of new york state we visited and also the other new england states. you have the beautiful autumn/fall colours which we do not get in brisbane. but this area reminds me of Tasmania, australia.
i will have a look at you other galleries especially the vermont photos
