The next to the last Howard Johnson's Restaurant closed a month or two before we were on a trip to Albany and the Binghamton, New York area. The news articles stated that the sole remaining Howard Johnson's was in Lake George, New York. We had a late afternoon flight out of Albany so we made a side trip north to Lake George in the morning so I could get these photos.

What a shame that all of the Howard Johnson Restaurants except one have closed. I used to love their variety of ice cream flavors and their clam strips when my aunt Norma took me to different Howard Johnson's restaurants when I was a kid in the Miami area and later as a teen when we stayed at Howard Johnson Motor Lodges while on a road trip to Chicago and back.
