Mary Fran Melfa Young was my buddy George Young's wife for 41 years. Fran was born on March 7, 1942 and she passed away on March 2, 2003, 5 days shy of her 61st birthday. Fran graduated from Miami High School in June 1960 and married George on April 28, 1962.

Fran was such a lovely and gracious person with a wonderful laugh. She was an inspiration to many. She always thought about others before she thought of herself. It was an honor to know her and to be her friend. Fran is truly missed.

Frannie was an inspiration to many of us with her strength, zest for life and love of her family and friends. She was an amazing friend!

Fram was my mother-in-law...not your average one either! She made me feel like part of the family right from the start, and I always enjoyed being with her. She had such an amzing presence. And once Ronnie and I had Cameron..oh my! She adored him from the moment we told her we were pregnant! I truly believe he kept her with us just a little longer. I miss her very much, and would give anything to hear her laugh one more time! Beautiful memoriam.

George was my boss at the Firestone store in Homestead for many years. I remember Fran as a beautiful, warm and very friendly woman that made you feel like you had know her for years, right after you met her. She was very gracious and warm. I know George misses her very much. What a shame to lose such a sweet lady so young.
