David and his wife Gisela and daughter Ana have been friends of ours for many years because Ana and our daughter Donna were in school together since kindergarten. David passed away unexpectedly at the age of 58 while he was in the hospital recuperating from stomach cancer surgery. His death really bothered me and it really made my own mortality seem more imminent. I always enjoyed talking with David while drinking good beers and I'll miss his wisdom and viewpoints.
