Barbara Blews was a neighbor of mine. Because we were both young, her death was a shock to the kids on the block. Something you never forgot.

It's great to see her in this photo! Barbara, you're not forgotten.

Barbara Blews passed away from cancer when we were Girl Scouts and attended as a troop. She was maybe 12 or so. Rachel Hackle has since become and angel as well. How delightful to have this photo of both girls (and good friends of mine) and the ever funny Eddie! Fairyland Park was indeed a "happy place" for all of us!

Hi Barbara, I do not know if you remember me. I lived a few blocks west of you on Cherokee St.

Remember Marshton's 5 & 10 store on Westward? What a wonderful place to shop as not only a kid, but as newly weds. We still display our first Christmas ornaments from 47 years ago that we purchased there. Or even the Christmas presents all the children received from Santa at the party in the Circle. The mechants donated the gifts so every child got a great gift. Our family (the Mullins clan) moved to the Springs in 1947, and what a wonderful place to grow up!

Carl 1950-1965. AH , yes, Fairyland, presumably the one across from the Miami Jai Alai fronton. I lived in the trailor park next to Fairyland (1951, age 8). I remember bringing my gift wish list to Santa there. Thats when my 5 year old brother said I was nuts, because there was no Santa claus, explaining that he saw dad slip the toys into the house!.

Thank you Don, I have your site in my favorites and love looking through your site, for old friends and classmates. Miami was a great place to grow in, and Miami Springs even better. My world now is a little like that, where every one knows every one, and looks out for each other. When you have time, please come and visit.

I don't have any. Raymond Mills Jr. supplied the image to me and he went to MS Elementary.

I read an article not too long ago about you and your photography operation out there on Loop Road - way to go!! It was great reading, and viewing on your site. Don
