I also was in this parade around 1972 , twirling a baton we had orange uniforms. I don't have any Pictures. But would love to see some if anyone has any.

Your comment about "Jeremiah was a Bullfrog" triggered a memory for me. In elementary school, I think 6th grade, 1971-72, Miami Heights Elementary, our music teacher asked what song we wanted to learn. We all said "Jeremiah was a Bullfrog". She came back a couple days later with the bad news... It was a drug song. "High night flier and a rainbow rider" was the line she said was a no-no in a school. Meanwhile you guys are singing it in a Parade in front of City Hall!

Now I hear rap music and I have to laugh at what we weren't allowed to sing at school.

I was in this parade too through the Coral Gables Youth Center in the late 60's. I got to be the pirate ship captain (I'm female). Do you remember Miss Barbara who was in a wheelchair at the youth center? Was Coach Dick there? My dad owned the Shoe Repair shop across the street from the men's store and next to the Gables Apothacary. I was so proud when our float went past his store.

I was in this thing around 1972, as a group from the Coral Gables Youth Center. We spent WEEKS perfecting our routine, then the "choreographer" changed it all, TWO DAYS before. DISASTER. My sister was a giant tulip, and we sang "Jeremiah was a Bullfrog," with a huge frog float. I have that on Super 8. OUCH. ripshin@excite.com

The building is the Coral Gables City Hall at Coral Way and LeJune. Other than the windows being closed today, I'm sure this looks exactly the same today. Thank you Coral Gables for not modernizing everything.
