It is unfortunate that the U. S. Coast Guard is not listed among the five U. S. military branches, but the Merchant Marine and National Guard are. The memorial is dedicated to the Taos-area servicemen who served in World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the Persian Gulf War, it's hard to believe that not one Taos-area serviceman served in the U. S. Coast Guard during those wars.
