1940s - Pan American terminal and hangars at Miami International Airport

Miami International Airport, Florida

From the state archives: "Ample hangar space for overhaul and service of all types of aircraft is provided at Pan American World Airways' Miami overhaul base. The hangars are located on the 36th Street side of Miami International Airport. Shown from right to left: Miami International passenger terminal, Pan Am terminal in the west wing; hangars 5, 6, 7 and 8 with the service positions in front of the hangars."

The hangars are still in use by aviation maintenance companies at MIA. The hangar in the middle is leased by Miami Air International and is believed to be the oldest building on the airport. The terminals to the right of that hangar were torn down decades ago.
