Miami Municipal Airport, Miami, Florida
Miami Municipal Airport was located east of LeJeune Road from NW 110th Street to NW 119th Street, west of the railroad tracks that separated it from Masters Field. More information on these airports is at: http://www.pbase.com/airlinerphotos/airports_oldmiami
The airship in the picture is the U.S.S. Akron (ZRS-4), the U.S. Navy's flying aircraft carrier. Just four months after this picture was taken, Akron crashed off the coast of New Jersey during a storm killing 73 crewmen. Her sister ship Macon, commissioned June of that year met the same fate two years later but only 2 crewmen died.
