I was 4 year's old and my grandmother and grandfather would take me to the pool. with the old bar bell type float. in 1958 or1959? befor everyone had A/C,

I'm wondering if anyone out there knew a bookkeeper at one of the Miami Beach Hotels back in the 50's!! Please contact me at Boodles1953@aol.com if any member of your family was a bookkeeper "back in the day" at a Miami Beach Hotel!

I remember spending a week with my mother and three sisters in 1958 at the Roney for a summer vacation, even though we lived in Miami. My grandfather died in Miami that summer. I was 12 years old. It was a gorgeous place with fancy cabanas and a huge swimming pool. I think the hotel was painted pink. I think one of the restaurants there was Les Jardins.

It is a shame that we have lost all of our Miami History. When I was a child I remember coming to Miami with my parents for vacation and we use to stay at the McAllister Hotel or the Everglades Hotel in downtown. We also loved to stay at the Shelborne Hotel in Miami Beach. My parents use to go to the Boom Boom Room night club where Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin sang.
