Doug Osborn grew up in the Miami area, served on active duty in the U. S. Coast Guard as an Electronics Technician, and was our field representative for our FIDS (Flight Information Display System), manufactured by American Sign & Indicator of Spokane, WA, for many years. He and Paul Keener, an electrician who also worked on our FIDS, were hired by the Aviation Department in the late 1980's to run our new FIDS manufactured by Baker Telecom. The airport sent Doug and me to a Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) computer school for a week in Denver to learn more about operating the system, and we made a side trip to Pike's Peak before the class started.
Doug passed away in the 1990's.
