The Chesapeake was a GREAT (nothing better!!) seafood restaurant we dined at often. I especially enjoyed browsing the restaurant (aka nautical museum) and awing at all the nautical memorabilia. Wonderful memories, exceptional food, super prices, and much better times!!!!!

Many of the shells you see stuck on the walls and display cases in this picture were put there by me. I worked for Mama Bauer (Christina) , helping her decorate. Once I took my model A truck and Tim Swain, down to Islamorada and picked up a full load of old fish nets for her. We were 17 and she paid us well. I worked as a bus boy, oyster shucker, fry cook, and broiler cook. I am much in debt to Ray Bauer and his wife for giving me a start in life. Ray's life dream was to own a restaurant/marina. He no sooner had achieved that, with the Whale Harbor Chesapeake, that God called him home. He was only 55.
