Quentin "Pete" Ciolfi ("Kernel Seaflea" to me) and I have been buddies dating back to September 1957 when we met at the start of 5th grade at Immaculate Conception School in Hialeah. We didn't have contact after high school until ten years or so ago when Pete found me on the internet. I call him "Kernel Seaflea" because his nickname in elementary school was "Seaflea" since Ciolfi was too hard to pronounce and I added "Kernel" because he was a Colonel in the U. S. Army Reserve and retired at that rank.
This photo was taken by his wife Linda after the Hialeah High Class of 1965 50-year Reunion was held at the adjacent Milander Center for the Performing Arts and after most of the reunion attendees posed for a group photo in the stands at the Ted Hendricks Stadium (formerly Municipal Stadium and later Milander Stadium) since Ted was a member of our class.
