My dad took me here in the early 1950's when I was 4 or 5 and I remember eating coconut ice cream for dessert for the first time and I loved it. I was told on my last visit there in May 2011 that they no longer have the coconut ice cream for dessert but that many customers remember it from 30, 40, or 50 years ago. We also ate there in the late 1960's when I was stationed in downtown Tampa with the U. S. Coast Guard for two and a half years.
