I lived on the third floor on the wing behind me in the photo from mid-June through August 12, 1966 as a member of recruit company R-63 (Romeo 63) when the Coast Guard was still in the Treasury Department. I last saw the Coast Guard's Recruit Training Center in the summer of 1970 after I got off four years one month active duty in the USCG and my first wife and I took a seven-week road trip to see the country east of Chicago and as far north as Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. The barracks behind me is now called "James Hall" but I don't think it had a name back in 1966 when it was fairly new and one of the few concrete buildings at the center.
