2010 - rock concert promoter Leas Campbell passed away

Miami, Florida


Anyone who grew up in Miami and loved rock and roll will recognize the Leas Campbell name from all the great rock concerts he promoted in the 1960's and 70's in the Miami area at the Sportatorium, Miami Jai-Alai Fronton and Pirates World among other places. He produced over 2000 concerts throught the USA in the 1970's working with great artists like Elvis Presley, The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Led Zeppelin, the Allman Brothers Band and many others. Mr. Campbell passed away on May 25, 2010, from pneumonia at Baptist Hospital in Miami. RIP Leas Campbell! Thank you for providing us with such great entertainment over the years and for your decades of work helping those with drug and alcohol addictions.

Thanks for the memeries. just stumbled on this site. I was born in Miami in 1950. Worked for Miami-Dade Police for a short time then did other things. As a id worked at Haulover docks. Gold Coast Cruises boats. At the Castaways Motel at age 14 in the stock room. minimum wage was $1.00 an hour. Every day hitch hiked from JFK Jr. High to beach to work.
