1950's - Formico's Restaurant, Tiny's Liquors and the Jet Bar

NW 27th Avenue south of the Palmetto Expressway

Thank you to Stan Meade for contributing this great old image. Jeff Levine states that this photo was taken by Ernie W. Skog.

Thank you to Vito "Les" Formica for sending me an e-mail about this restaurant. Les says:
"The photo of the restaurant called "Formico's" & Tiny's Jet Bar was taken late 1954 or early 55. My parents owned it. The original place was on 36th st. This photo was taken when we moved the business east of Opa-locka Airport, thinking this location with Tiny's would bring more business. It was on NW 27th Avenue as I recall, but forget what street. My father had been in the food distribution business prior to the restaurants and he serviced most all of the Italian Restaurants in your collection. Thinking the restaurant business would be a better living, he sold the food business & opened the 1st restaurant on NW 36th st. and about 29th ave. BAD DECISION !!"
