Wanda, thank you very much for posting your comments and memories. Do you remember the year that the drugstore opened? Do you remember the street that the drug store was on? Can you post more memories of the neighborhood and the Marine Air Station? I have a serious lack of information about Opa-locka back then and the Marine Air Station. Where did you go to high school and what class year were you in? Thanks!!

I remember when Marine Drugs was first built… great memory from my teen years. I worked at the soda fountain. I learned how to make every kind of coke you could think of back in the day…cherry coke, vanilla, coke, even chocolate coke… loved wearing my little white uniform and polyester turquoise apron… just like you see in todays diners trying to capture the look of the 50's. I was there! :) Oh yes, at that time there was the Opa Locka Marine base and many of the marines would come in and ask for a frappe… what did I know, i was just a little Southern girl. :)
