Hi! I believe that you confused the buildings a little. The building shown here is actually Dyer Federal Building And Courthouse and not the old post office. The post office would be further down the street towards Flagler. This building is in front of Miami Dade College

Are there any photo's of the west side of the old Post Office? I'm looking for this, 'FLAGSTAFF ON TOP OF OPEN YELLOW BRICK TURRET ON THE W FACE OF THE POSTAL BUILDING'.
I know there are two flag poles on the east side, but could there be a flag pole on the west side still in existence? Is there a now hidden courtyard?

I remember this building. It was one of the biggest building I ever seen in 1967, just arrived from Guatemala. Saw the first White and colored water fountains inside the halls. very surprised. Very grand... Across now is the Miami Dade Community college. Used to lived in 6 st and miami ave. There used to be a peanut factory where you could buy hot peanuts in a small brown bag. Too bad I did not have pictures from back then. I was only 12.
