1943 - U. S. Navy sailors marching at the Sub Chaser Training Center at the Port of Miami

Port of Miami, Miami, Florida

Thank you to Charlie Rice for contributing this great old image of the Navy's Sub Chaser Training Center (SCTC) that was located at Miami's port during World War II.

Charlie says: "The SCTC commandant was Commander Eugene Field McDaniel, an Annapolis graduate who had served aboard the destroyer Livermore on anti-submarine duty in the North Atlantic before his transfer to Miami."

Joy, welcome and thank you for posting your comments. If you scan that old photo I would love to put it up on the site in the Individuals & Small Groups gallery for many of my viewers to appreciate.
