And I've had seven photos from the last Lums in Davie up on my site in the Restaurants gallery since 2008, the link is: http://www.pbase.com/donboyd/memories_restaurants That last Lums is now the Flashback Diner and they still serve the Ollieburger which I have had several times and it's just like the original Ollieburger.

While the Herald may say that it was the last Lums anywhere there are supposedly two other Lums still operating, one in the midwest (Kansas?) and one in the northeast. So I put "the last Lums in the southeastern US" when I mention it on this site.

The Ollieburger with mozzarella cheese and dogs steamed in beer. And Key Lime Pie. OMG I'm hungry now.

The Lums restaurant in Davie, the last of a franchise of 500 restaurants nationwide, has closed.

Once a South Florida fixture, Lums was founded by the Perlman family, who opened their first Lums in Miami Beach in 1956. The chain was so successful, and popular with college crowds in the 1960s and 1970s, that the corporation went public, listing on the New York Stock Exchange. The company later bought Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. ..." Google it.
