Didn't know it closed...I used to go there after class at Nova in the early 2000s. Miss Lum's, greatest hot dogs ever.

Forgot to say that my boyfried back then used to work at the Corp. office for Lums on Bisc. Blvd. That is when I was working at the Telephone Co., I used to drive over there and we would have lunch together. Great memories! I also remember a Thom McCan shoe store across the st. from the Lum's on 7th & 111th. In the corner of that L shaped plaza was a Ben Franklin 5 & 10 cent store.

I remember the Lum's at N.W. 7th avenue and 111th Street. Across from the Grand Way-Grand Union store. There was also a Bowling Alley just on the other side of Lums. I had forgotten about the Ollie burgers, We used to get the fried clams, oh so good. It was a great hang out and the prices were resonable. I do remember the hotdogs steamed in beer. I think I'm going to try that this week. Just got in the mood for a chili dog!

The Ollieburger originated at a little sandwich shop on 23rd St. in Miami Beach where all the kids from Beach High would get lunch. They were delicious with their salty secret spices. Ollie sold the rights/recipe to Lums, which had a location down the street on Collins. Can't believe they were still using it in 2008!

Ollie Burgers are great. Legend has it that they originated with a cook at the Lums on Miami Beach. He used to come out and chastise you if you dared to put Ketchup on his creation.
