I just came across a Black Raspberry 4 oz bottle with cap and some liquid still inside. Made in Rochester NY. Really need bottle for a collector!

I grew up in Binghamton NY and remember buying peewees for a nickle. I think they were the slightly carbonated 6 oz variety - this would have been '59-'60. I remember grape & orange, I think there may have been a cola or root beer available as well, but I definitely favored the grape.

hi I have a pee wee crate with the old phone number from new York. please tell me more about the company

My family owned the Rochester Soda Water Company in Rochester, NY. Rochester Soda Water developed the special drink and had the patent on the name "Pee Wee A." They franchised the name and design to bottlers in Endicott, NY and Hialeah, FL. In Rochester they bottled 4 and 6 ounce drinks. The 4 ounce drinks were grape and orange and uncarbonated. The 6 ounce drinks came in grape, orange and additional flavors were slightly carbonated. You would find bottles from Endicott, NY and Hialeah, FL with the Pee Wee A trademark as well as the original 4 ounce bottles with Rochester Soda Water on them.

I lived in Miami from 1946 until 2013, raised on a dairy at nw 79th st and 32nd ave.I remember the Pee Wee sodas. As a matter of fact I went to boot camp with a guy named who lived around the corner from the Pee Wee bottling plant 1 block west of Lejeune Road on, I believe se 9th st in Hialeah. Lionel Roberts was my boot camp buddys’ name and he used to work in the plant when extra help was needed. We used to give him a hard time about being on “roach watch.”

Mike, I've been to Endicott and was up there in mid-October to see the leaves changing and to eat Spiedies. My first wife was from Vestal and we visited her parents a couple of times a year from 1970 to 1980 when we divorced. I didn't know that Pee Wee was bottled up there too, thanks for the information and the memories.

Wow!! Blast from the past or what. As a teen I worked at the Pee wee bottling company on the north side in Endicott New York. Was a small family owed company. I remember those wooden crates we put the 1 quart bottles in. I delivered them in the afternoons. I believe McGlenty was the family name. Funny story? Andy Griffith had a six pack of them on his mantle. I shipped them to him myself.

Kathy, those chocolate candies that tasted like tootsie rolls are called chocolate babies. They are made once a year by the original company. I buy them at To The Moon. In Wilton Manors, Fla The store is a blast from the past, with Nostalgic candy and toys. Like real glass clacker balls..........A small jam packed store tat always makes me smile. The owner is GREAT. Antonio . BTW I loved pee wee's

Wow...My dad had a Sunoco gas station on N.Miami ave and 6 street and sold Pee Wee sodas. I have one bottle left. What fond memories. I would like to know who made them. They were great. Only problem they were only about 3 swallows before they were all gone !

Now this website brings back many fond memories. My late father owned a grocery store at the corner of 57th Ct and Flagler St. It was called the Flagler Park Grocery. He would always let me bring my school friends with me after school for sodas, candy, and/or comic books. He had a large Coca Cola ice chest that was filled with chopped ice and a variety of sodas. Among the drinks he sold were Pee Wees. I think they sold for a nickle apiece and there was no "deposit" for the bottles. These were by far the very best fruit flavored drinks (aside from Nehi's) that I ever tasted. Trouble was three gulps and they were gone.

Wow!!! Those were indeed the good ol' days! My brother and i use to ride our bikes in the very early '60s to a little mom and pop store located a couple of city blocks from 27th Avenue on 104th St. I can't remember its name, but can still picture 2 little sun-freckled kids hitting the store up every chance we could for a couple of Pee Wees and if we had any change leftover from our bottle caps, we'd buy a pack of root beer fizzies! :) ... Ahhhh ... those WERE the days!

I used to buy PeeWees back in 1962-64 in what is now called Little Haiti. I remember they used to leave me wanting more. My favorite flavor was Cherry (or was that strawberry?). Boy, those were the days.

Brian Starkman...that's what I remember, that they weren't carbonated, and they were smaller than a regular bottle of soda. I don't remember a carbonated version, but they may have sold those too. They sold them in south Florida at the 7-11 in my neigborhood (Perrine). I didn't like them as much as regular soda 'cause they weren't carbonated and they seemed so small, so I rarely drank them. But my "best friend" always got one when we rode our bikes to 7-11 to get candy and drinks. I remember a Pee Wee was only 5 cents, cheaper than a regular bottle of soda. I'd usually get a Slurpee if I could afford it, or a Mountain Dew if I couldn't. Wow, that's neat-o. I haven't seen a Pee Wee bottle in over 40 years..!!

I'm from Miami. We got our sodas from a small grocer on 8th st & about 43rd ave. I think it was called Johnny's. We lived about 4 blocks from there, so we walked there all the time. I was the baby in the family, so I thought they made these just for me. I kept one in the fridge for years with water in it for me to drink throughout the day. I don't know what ever happened to it. I've been looking in antique shops and have not found one yet. What a great memory and a great time to be a kid.

I have never seen a Pee-Wee bottle from Florida. It looks identicle to those from Rochester and Syracuse, NY. Do the ones from Florida come in carbonated and non-corbonated varieties like those up north? Bottles from Rochester were 4 and 6 oz

I'm so glad I find this picture. I was starting to think that I was dreaming about all the times my Dad took us to get a pee-wee soda, and I had forgotten all about Utotem. Wow this made my day! Thanks.

Pee-Wees were also sold at the 'tiny tiny' store (a small old wood framed building) on the corner of NW 7th Street and 33rd or 34th avenue, north side. I used to walk up from 32nd place between 11th and 14th streets to buy one and a box of choclolate babydoll candy - tasted like tootsie rolls only better. Anyone know the real name of this store or even remember it ????
Laura 11-Aug-2009 13:14
I remember these - they were so sweet and 2 sips and it was drunk.......They were sold at all Utotem's
Peggy 14-Jul-2009 04:52
Thank you so much!!! No one remembers these. They were in the cooler at the UtoteM store (on the corner of E 4th ave and 50th street), next to the Nihi soda. I was beginning to think they were a crazy dream. LOL
