Irene was my dad's long-time off and on girlfriend from 1955 or so until he died in 1975. Bowlerama was a large new bowling alley located on the southwest corner of NW 79th Street and 2nd Avenue. My dad and Irene belonged to a couple of bowling leagues, including one sponsored by their employer Miami Beach Federal Savings & Loan Association, and I got dragged along at least two nights a week to the bowling alley where I had great fun doing my homework in the middle of a bunch of drunks yelling and screaming over strikes, spares, and whatever.
