Our 50-Year Reunion Saturday evening dinner/dance was held at the beautiful new Milander Center for Arts & Entertainment at 4800 Palm Avenue, Hialeah. John Lund, reunion committee chairman, was the emcee of the event. Hialeah Mayor Carlos Hernandez, a former Hialeah police officer, welcomed our group to the less than two year old Milander Center and to Hialeah, which has certainly changed in the fifty years since our graduation. Ron Sprovero, a retired Air Force Reserve Colonel, gave a fitting tribute to our class's military veterans and deceased veterans of the Vietnam Era. After the dinner and dancing in the Milander Center, those classmates who hadn't already left due to the late hour walked next door to Ted Hendricks Stadium to sit in the north stands posing for the hired photographer.

All in all, it was a great weekend being with friends who go back with me in time as far back as 1957. But I wish these friends, in alphabetical order, from the Hialeah High Class of 1965 had shown up for the reunion to make it superb: Roberta "Bobbie" Ash, Bill Beekman, Glenda Beekman, Artie Borreca, Pete Burch, Cyndy Cardona, Louie Carrillo, Hector Carneado, Peggy Champion, Valerie Ciaccio, Janice Dale, Ruthie Delli-Veneri, Roddy Deremer, Norm "John" Ebel, David Elman, Barry Erdvig, Steve Estes, Fred Flink, Martha Frau, Rick "Cool Guy" Gilmore, Judy Haywood, Karen Hudson, Jerry Larson, Roger Levesque, Lianne "Dottie" Leslie, Joe Libertucci, Eileen McKnight, Lanny Paulk, Lynne Smith, John Steding, Bob Stella, John "Jack" Sullivan, Bill Whitley, Beverly Wilkes, Pam Wolters, Joe Worley, Clark Wullenweber and Bob Zimmerman.

And of course, these deceased classmate friends of mine were missing, may they rest in peace: Steve Brasecker, Sam Costanzo, Lynn Denham, Drake Jeffries, Liz Jones Kettleman, Jerry Kettleman, Wally Trychta and Mark Zubal.

The Milander Center is spacious and very attractive and the reunion committee members who decorated the room did an outstanding job, just as they did the previous evening at the Citation Room at Hialeah Park. The Milander Center's open bar spirits were great and the buffet dinner items were varied and delicious. These are my photos from this event.
