The teachers and library volunteers had placed a table for me at the head of the room, where I entertained questions from all of the children, and gave them reasonably fabricated answers that seemed to satisfy them all. More than once from the corner of my eye, I'd see one of the kids, REALLY checking me out for any signs of being fake.

I think I passed their stringent criteria.
