I followed this guy around the outhouse to take a pic. Judy was taking pics as well - but of a much smaller version of this snake that I was almost stepping on. I presume they had both just emerged from the hole at the front of the base of the outhouse. I totally missed the young one! ID provided/verified - see comments.
